MCPD : Windows Developer Candidates without a MCTS Certification
1. Earn your MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Windows Applications by passing the following two exams:
- MCTS Exam 70-526 : Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 - Windows-Based Client Development
- MCTS Exam 70-536 : Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 - Application Development Foundation
2. After earning the MCTS, candidates may earn their MCPD: Windows Developer by passing one additional required exam.
- MCPD Exam 70-548 : Designing and Developing Windows Applications by Using the Microsoft .NET Framework

Upgrade to the MCPD: Windows Developer certification
1. If you are an existing MCAD/MCSD, you may upgrade by taking one exam:
- MCPD Exam 70-552 : MCPD Windows Developer Upgrade Training.
2. By passing this MCPD upgrade exam, you will automatically obtain the relevant MCTS prerequisite, MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Windows Applications.
